Hello! I'm Monica, the founder of Insomnia Relief Coach, LLC, and a Certified Sleep Coach with an M.Ed. in Counseling.
Like many of you, I've faced the daunting battle against insomnia. My struggle profoundly impacted every aspect of my life. I know firsthand the frustration, exhaustion, and helplessness that come with trying to get quality rest. During one of the most challenging periods of my life, I was also diagnosed with Lyme disease, which deepened my understanding of sleep disturbances, especially for those with chronic illnesses.
Seeking relief, I consulted numerous well-meaning physicians and specialists. Despite their good intentions, conventional wisdom and standard solutions fell short, leaving me further isolated and anxious. Realizing traditional advice wasn't helping, I embarked on a journey of research and personal experimentation.
Determined to tackle my insomnia, I tried countless solutions: lifestyle changes, medications, assorted therapies—you name it! My bedside table became a final resting place for attempted remedies—essential oils, supplements, crystals, and even a playlist of whale sounds. Spoiler alert: none worked, though they made for entertaining bedtime routines!
The true turning point came through my extensive research of clinical studies, articles, and books, where I discovered science-based strategies that transformed my sleep habits and quality of life. This personal victory ignited my passion for helping others facing similar struggles.
Driven by my mission, I earned a certification in a Harvard Medical School-based sleep coaching program. Combining these methodologies with my personal experiences and background in counseling forms the foundation of my holistic sleep coaching approach.
